The 3 marina basins at St Katharine Docks are kept clean by our dock staff and any rubbish found in the water is scooped out and caught so it doesn’t cause harm to the many different types of fish living in the River Thames.
In 1957 the Thames was declared “biologically dead” but now thanks to conservation efforts since the 1990s there are now 100 different fish species in the 215-mile-long river, including seahorses and eels – and even seals.
